MemTest 7.0 is a tiny free tool from HCI Design that checks your computer's RAM for hidden faults without restarting anything. You just tell it how much memory to test and press Start - it writes special bit patterns into the RAM and reads them back, flagging any mismatch as an error. If errors show up even once, the memory module is faulty and should be replaced.
